Water softner ok to use????

Hey guys about to hook up my water softner and i have a ro system for my tank will my water be ok with the softner???

I use a water softner and also an ro/di unit. I have not had any problems with using these two things together.

??I don't understand? why do you need a watersoftener?

I use a softner as well. I have read that it can prolong the life of the RO membrane but not really sure. It does no harm and is good for washing the cars.

I use well water thincat, and the water is very hard.

I guess I'm a little spoiled. My tds is 70ppm.
