Can someone recommend a pump to do WC? It will need to be able to syphon water out of a rubbermaid trashcan and into a 5 gal bucket. Then pump water out of the bucket and into my tank.

If you do not have an ATO which would prevent overflowing when using pump to fill up your tank then it is not a good idea to use pump. I would recommend using a pitcher which I still use when doing pwc on my 150 gal.

Follow the KIS effect. Keep it simple. Like said above, utilize an auto top off. I use the JBJ ATO with an aqualifter pump. I switch it from the distilled over to my salt mix for water changes and simply do a quick siphon out of my 55's system.
