If anyone has a similar setup and has managed to quieten the gurgle can you post pics?

Thanks
Matt

Glue a cap to the top of that pipe. as in cap it off. then cut slits in the sid of the pipe near the top of the pipe...close to the cap as possible...make the slots as big as possible without damaging the integrity of the pipe. Then get a larger cap and glue it on top of that cap. Drill a small hole in the very center of the top. What this does is allows water to flow up the cap, then down the pipe, thus eliminating most of the noise.

Very effective.

Thanks Speakerman,

I dont know if im confused but is this what you mean?

Cut vertical slots in the pipe.
Cap it off.
Cap that off with another cap with a hole in the centre.

Is that it?

Confusion - Does the first cap get drilled too?

Are you able to bang up a picture?

Matt

I have an overflow box, but similar problem.

I fixed my noisy drain with one of those bendy-straws - bent it over as far as it would go, then inserted the long end down into the drain of the overflow. The gurgling starts up once in awhile, but it usually stops within seconds.
