Weird stringy stuff growing on the outside of my filter

I use a canister filter, filstar xp3, and I found a weird brownish stringy stuff out side of my filter suck pipe ( the pipe that sucks the water to the canister) and if it is bad plz tell me how to remove it.

It is probably accumulated solid waste or algae. As far as removing it, clean the filter and the intake
