Went crazy on new fish.........

This weekend I went a little crazy and got a few things;

a snowflake moray:

yes, that is a cheesy plastic decoration from Petco, but hey after some coralline and eels hanging out inside, it will look cool.

went back the next day and got another that was sold as a chainlink moray, but not sure:

he is more camera shy. He is about 5-6" and as big as my little finger. The snowflake is about 7-8" and about as fat as my thumb. Both are eating well (no surprise there) and doing fine with the undulated trigger.

also decided to try some more LPS coral now that water issues are under control and picked up this little torch:

the last one I had melted when my tank hit 90 degrees before I had the cooler.

and finally this guy, a yellow tang;

I was kinda wary, but he was at the LFS for over two weeks and I've been checking on him and he is very healthy, so I went ahead and got him.

I also picked up a yellow feather duster and a small porcelain anemone crab to put in the nano fuge tank, but the duster is in his tube and the crab is hanging out in the chaeto right now, so no pics.

Hmmm,
I never had problems before. will have to keep an eye on him.
from what I have seen, if it moves up against a coral, it goes in another direction.

I'm not doubting you, it's just you are the first person to tell me that they are not "reef safe" aside from the obvious clams and such.

any type of coral in particular they go after?

the main display is 50 gallon, the refugium/display is 6 gallons and the sumps are about 20-25 gallons total.
The eels are currently in a ten gallon along with an undulated trigger, soon to be moving into a 30 and from there to an 80.

oh and bear in mind the star is only about 2" max right now, so not gonna outgrow the tank anytime soon. Will probably move him if I notice any problems.
Can always toss together another small tank if needed....LOL

more detailed description;
on my 50 display setup I have a refugium with a deep sand bed, protein skimmer, reactors for bio-pellets, Purigen and GFO, a secondary sump with Matrix and pumice blocks for biological filtration and a Magnum 350 canister filter with Seachem's carbon/phosban mix.
the total water volume is probably around 70 gallons
Redundant and some would say overkill, but my stocking and feeding is what most would consider "heavy" and my water parameters now stay on point with very little need for much action or adjustment on my part beyond partial water changes.
I have 7 fish, 4 hermits, 4 nassarius snails, 6-8 astria snails, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 flame shrimp, 1 camel shrimp, 1 emerald green crab, a chocolate chip star, thousands of mini brittle stars and various coral.

Ok, so I just managed to get a great pic of the little porcelain crab I picked up.
He lives in my refugium.
Here he is sitting next to the inlet where water enters the refugium, holding his "arms" up in the current filtering tiny particles to eat.

Here's mine. He loves in my acans. He's does that when my goby cleans the sand near him. He also love mysis.

I loved my porcelain crabs. It was a rare treat to see them come around in the 55.

had a scare last night when I was doing some stuff and found the remains of my porcelain crab strewn around the refugium, or so I thought. I figured he didn't make it for some reason and the worms and stars finished him off.


Then a few hours later he came out and was looking as good as ever.
He molted and boy am I relieved.
He is hard to find because he blends so well with the rubble and his spots are the same color as the coralline...LOL
