What do you feed your sea star?

Do you guys feed your starfish anything specific or do you just let them graze? We were thinking of chopping up some shrimp for our chocolate chip. Should we just throw it in the tank or should we put it on him? Any advice?

Once a week, I put some clams or mystis shrimp on the end of a wooden spear, and my brittle star takes it off the stick.
