The message NewInTown is trying to get across above is one to heed. Watt/gal is a terrible way to look at it, depth vs area is a much better way to "view it" if you will. For your tank size, you would need about one 400w MH lamp for every 2 foot square of water surface area. A 250w bulb would not penetrate the full depth of the tank.Brenden said:Since we are being techinical let me rephrase my question so it can not be misunderstood.
