What Kind Of Sponge?

Yes, newb question, but I got to make sure it's right. I want to place a sponge in my main tank to build bacteria for the qt tank. I dont want to put it in soon, because I am treating for ich. I will place it in when I get new fish for qt.

What kind of sponge and how big?

what type of filter do you plan on using for your QT? most hob filters or canister filters have a sponge that is part of the mechanical filtering. Use that sponge.
