What light is good for a 40 gallon aquarium

Hey, I have a 40 gallon fowler and I would like to get coral soon. I was wandering what light would be cheap but would be able to grow corals. The tank is 18 inches deep.

Doesn't sound like it is a tall tank...I would get a T5 setup. I'm never good at the math in terms of penetration so I won't go into it. But a good T5 setup and you should be able to keep softies and LPS.

I use the 30" in my tank and it works great, I know there are better lights available like a AI Sole unit but for the $$ and the morning, noon, night function I love it!
