What sand for a fuge?

I'm doing a Dsb fuge I don't know what kind of sand. Do I want fine sand or course sand or both? I have like half the sand I need of course an soft sand. What do I do? I am willing to buy more sand in order to provide the best results.

I am using a courser sand is that alright? I would think its fine as long as its deep

It does not matter. Your goal here is surface space for BB and aquatic life to colonize. Sand has remarkable surface space, even more than crushed coral.

I'd say, for a fug, you are good either way.

I used medium grain aragonite for my DSB in my refuge. It works well.
