alright..well my mom and sister are pretty much heart-set on a star fish, my sister is dying for a choclate chip, but I know that these are a no-no because they will eat my snails/hermits/shrimp? well what star fish can I have that would be reef safe? I like the blue linckia (sp?) but not the price (but I LOVE them) so ya, what to feed the star fish like the blue linckia ???

CC stars will not eat what you mentioned. They will eat corals. So if you have any corals in which you do then it is not in your best interest. As far as the blue licknia they are not that expensive at least not here. 20.00 in Rich. But licknia`s are rated difficult by LA. I dont feed mine anything. Others do. They feed on microbes in the tank. Here is a good article on licknias

I`ve never fed mine in the two years I`ve had them. They search the tank for small microbes. I`m not saying you cant feed them just saying you dont have to. If you ever do get one DO NOT expose to air. Here is mine.

I believe I have read some folks use a plate to move them from the drip into the tank. Others use plastic containers. I would wait untill someone, who has actually done it, tell us how they did theirs.

Yes a shallow bowl or something. The less LFS water in your tank the better.

Just remember they have to have pristine water conditions.

I was also thinking about getting a blue one. Don't the linkia's get huge? I never got one just because I thought that they would grow to big for my 29.....
