Interesting. Im not sure what makes up aquarium salt but if its pure salt and nothing else then your salinity would increase depending on how much was added.

Is there info as to what is in the salt?

its basically aquarium salt by pharmaceuticals....used for aid in Ick treatment and finnage healing for fresh water....my wife had put a bottle on the back of a filter and fell below and landed in my sump.....its a card board milk container type box and had gotten pretty soaked....was just wondering what effects this could have

probobly just raise the salinity, bu i doubt it leached through the cardboard

IMO this shouldn't hurt anything. I have some as well for my cichlids and the carton says all natural made from evaporated sea water so I think you'll be ok. Check your salinity to be safe
