What's a good vegetation eater? (pic)

Please see pic below. I have this "vegetation" growing in spots all over my rock. It's not hair algae (I've had it and my snails take care of that quickly). It's kind of like a green fuzz. As it grows it looks more fern-like. I have hermits but they don't seem to touch it. My bicolor blenny eats a lot of algae but not this. Any ideas on what it is and what would eat it?

Searching on bryopsis, I found a post by Steve-S saying the following:
"No critters are known to eat that stuff. Manual removal and strict control of water quality is about the only means of controlling it's growth."

Umm... I don't like the sound of that! :( Is that generally agreed upon that there isn't a whole lot I can do, short of manual removal?
