yikes! stability is very important for corals and fish. you want to keep your temp steady as possible. don't do anything fast, or you will lose a lot of living creatures prematurely.
I knew it had to do with heat, was the first thing I said Good thing you checked that. You would have lost not just that coral you are very lucky. Make sure you always keep your temp around 78.
