What kinds of items should I stock in my new refugium?

Currently I have some sand from the tank and a couple of pieces of LR in it.

Your going to also want to add some type of macro algae. Most use caulerpa, I use halimeda, I do this because I have been too lazy and cheap to add a light just for the fuge (it's a hob) and it is lit by the tank lights. If you use caulerpa, you should light the fuge 24/7 to prevent the caulerpa from going sexual and crashing. Halimeda doesn't have this problem, although it takes more light (imo) and will also be a drain on your CA.

i got some caulerpa at my lfs. they threw in like a couple different species for like 3 bucks. i believe the algae actually feeds off of some of the excess nutrients in the water. as a result the algae and junk grows in the fuge and not in the display tank.
