Have a 34g with a 5 gallon refugium and my water is always about 80-81 should it be that hot or should it be colder. I have a chiller if it needs to be cooler.

The biggest thing with the temp of your tank is to keep it stable. You want to eliminate those radical temp swings.

My system stayed around 79 all the time but I had nearly 300g to work with. Smaller systems are more challenging to keep stable temps but it can be done.

Will with the chiller it's not that hard you set it and forget it and I have a red sea heater so it shout be ok. It's just you read so much that you start second thinking thing. One person says one thing and the next person says the next
