My tank is a year old and I can't leave well enough alone. My nitrates are 0. Ammonia 0. Nitrites 0. Phoshates 0. Calcium 480. Alk/kh 9.00/3.20. PH is 7.9, but has always been. I have tried everything to raise it but thats where it stays. So do I need a fuge? I want one. Seems reasonable.

There is nothing wrong with a stable 7.9, I would just leave it be. Just don't let it go below 7.8. However, another way to raise your PH without having to set up a fuge is to put kalk in your rodi top off water. Or drip kalk/limewater into your tank.

IMO it`s always a good idea to add a refugium. Added water volume and additional nutrient exportation is always a good thing.
