When to add supplements to tank?

I know the ph/alkalinity and calcium you add about an hour before time for the lights to come on. What about other things like Phytoplex and MircoVert? When is the best time to add them? With or without light?

I use them when I feed the tank. You want the sump and skimmer off.

They can make a skimmer go crazy and you do not want to circulate this into your sump (if used for feeding). Just let is settle in the water colume in the tank.
