when to change fuge bulb?

How often to you guys change your refugium bulb?

I have noticed slow growth on my cheato for sometime now. I have my lights on for 12 hours from 9pm-9am. This bulb that Im using is 6500K from home depot that I bought mmm cant remember, before november 2013 I think.

Which probably means you are doing a good job keeping the bad stuff out of your tank.

Had algae problem before and I bought myself brs gfo and carbon with brs medias,cut down feedings every other day. And It's been a month now that I've been doing that; it's been a month also that I haven't trimmed my cheato..

Yes from Toronto...haven't visited the aquarium yet but will be going very soon. Heard it's a must for hobbyist especially.
