I have a great new Heliofungia that I added to my tank last week, the only problem is that he keeps moving and leaving this nasty trail of goo behind. He regularly inflates and his tentacles are always nice and full, but every day or so he puffs up really big and starts to glide down the road across the tank. His movement is not really the problem except his is approaching my Xenia, Paris (pumping of course!) and the trail of goo.

My questions are 1) Do I try to stop him and put him back? 2) Do I try and remove the goo trail left behind? 3) How much will he damage Paris if he gets too close?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is normal for Heliofungia. I would suggest placing a rock barrier between the Heliofungia and any other corals near the sand.
