Why my maxi-mini won't come out?

I just purchased a beautiful maxi-mini a few days ago. I placed it on a rock where I could easily see it (and the sexy shrimp I'm buying that I'm hoping will hang out on it). It seemed to settle right in and attach itself to the rock. The next morning it had moved deep into a cave where it's getting very little light and where I can just barely see an edge of it. I thought they liked light so I'm a bit confused why it would position itself in the dark. I can't reach it to try to move it without taking my live rock all apart. Is there any way to coax it out into the light? I only need it to move a couple of inches toward the mouth of the cave so that I can see it. I hate that I spent $45 for something I can't even see.
