I'm just totally amazed at the regrowth. On Feb 20th I did some hacking and slashing of my Xenia. I simply took a sharp pair of surgical scissors and cut them close to the rock. Look how much they've grown. (not the big piece in the middle of course)

First I noticed it wasn't smooth anymore, then I could clearly see little bumps. Now the feathery pieces are popping out!

I did this when the top of my colt coral suddenly died. The base looked to be okay, but all the branches and polyps died after explosive growth over a year. Never figured it out, but I cut everything away but the base. It slowly healed over, grew what looked like hives all over it and then polyps erupted. The coral is on it's way to growing back. Amazing what they can do when the environment is right, they are like weeds.
