Some species of wrasse are adept at carpet surfing, like the fairy wrasses, other than that...I have not seen a larger incidence of carpet surfing than any other fish.

I have a wrasse, and he likes to carpet surf...literally. Whenever my wife (for some reason only her) takes the canope off the tank, he jumps out onto the carpet.

I had a Scott's Fairy Wrasse that went carpet surfing, When my wife went to feed the tank. He got ich and never recovered. My Golden Coris tried to jump but met the glass top, now he dives instead.
