Saw an ad for this site and figured it may be a good source for cheap fluorescent tubes. The thing I am curious about is the wattage some of them put out. 110watts per bulb for some of the 48" tubes. I assume these would require new ballasts for the All-Glass Aquarium hood I currently have (2 48" setup). If any uses these types of tubes please let me know how they are. Thanks

110 watt bulbs are VHO bulb and I think you will have to replace the ballast for your All-Glass Aquarium hood because your hood probably has a ballast for NO bulbs

Yep, 48" 110watts would be VHO, and requires an electronic ballast that pushes 110watts. your current fixture wouldn't hold the bulb, let alone light it up.
