Just put remora pro skimmer on 46 gal tank. Going to add 20 gal sump later but wanted to try it. Tank has only been running about 2 months. After 1st day small amount of light green liquid in cup. White foam. Seems to be more crud on surface than before. Only was using Aqua clear 300. Do I need to fashion a way to skim surface. I will add overflow box when I add sump. Also with skimmer on should I use Aqua 300 filter also? The micro bubbles from skimmer are getting fewer. Thanks

The skimmer will be more productive if the water for it is skimmed from the surface.

What are you using for a biological filter now?

100 lbs LS & 75 lb LR. I ran a tube up close to surface and it quickly cleaned surface crud. I'm going to sump before long with overflow box to skim. Thanks
