yellow button polyps

i just purchased a small colony of yellow button polyps from a LFS, it came on a piece of PVC pipe. on the PVC pipe there are a few polyps, i dont really want the PVC in my tank but i wouldnt mind trying to salvage the few polyps. can you cut them off with a razor blade and place them in the tank successfully or would i just be wasting my time?

Yes you can, you may want to glue them to a small piece of rock so they dont blow around i use CA.= super glue
