yellow tang and cleaner shrimp
I added a cleaner shrimp to my tank about three weeks ago. For the first couple days the shrimp tried to jump on the tang and he would freak out. It was pretty amusing. Now the shrimp doesn't even try to clean the tangs gills although he will clean my hand. Will the tang eventually accept the shrimp and understand the relationship?

If he needs him, he'll go to the shrimp. Otherwise, in my tank at least, I've only had newcomers pull up to the cleaner. After a bit, I think they either have no dead skin or parasites and stay away.
