From what i've observed, in my tank and at a LFS, BTA's and zoos seem to be "compatible" with each other. My green BTA's tentacles are touching my orange zoo regularly when it expands and my zoo doesn't show any sign of being stung. I also saw a rose BTA at the LFS which was touching a green zoo colony and none of the colony's polyps show any sign of being stung either.

Is my observation right?

Your observation might be right but there is potential for danger there. Keep your eyes open.

I bought a rock with orange zoos and some green star polyps. It had a baby BTA on the side of the rock.. had the rock for a good couple months now, and they seem to be co-existing fine. The bta hasn't moved off the rock so I guess it's happy, and the zoo arn't crowding it out or ending up damaged by the contact..
