I live in Galloway, NJ. Just outside of Atlantic City. I work with a view of the Great Bay, which is saltwater.
What does everyone think of me taking water and/or "live" rock from this source?

Probably a bad idea for the water, you have no idea what kind of pollutants/parasites you would be introducing to your aquarium. As for the LR I don't know how that would work, but I would guess that it would also most likely be a bad idea.

While I am no longer a salt water tank keeper, I always had a moral issue with people taking "stock" from the sea. Most of the stores I dealt with always raised their own. Of course that was pretty easy since I grew up in Florida. But even when I moved out here I found one store that raises their own and I respect them more for that.
