WAMAS FRAG Workshop Oct 18th. Whos going?

I got the following e-mail yesterday from the WAMAS group.

Quote:
We are having our annual Frag workshop next weekend at Rockview Elementary
School in Kensington MD from 2-5pm. We will be fragging up all kinds of
corals (softies, zoanthids, some [acronym:27ad24fe04="Small Polyped Stoney"]sps[/acronym:27ad24fe04], etc)- mostly letting you get hands on
experience (what you [acronym:27ad24fe04="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frag[/acronym:27ad24fe04] and mount- you take with you). Also, we are
having a special guest- Dr. Andrew Bruckner, from NOAA and the Coral Reef
Task Force, speak to us on issues related to sustainable harvest practices
and current issues related to Gov't policy. Frag swapping is currently
happening in the forums at www.wamas.org - if for some reason you can't
access it, bring what you'd like to share. Should be a great time, great
raffle with donations from Coral Connection, Tunze, Farms@thesea.org,
phishybusiness.com, Calfo Books, and more!
Who plans on going? I plan on going.

I thought it was a great meeting. There was a guest speaker from NOAA talking about that they are doing about coral reef conservation as well as what steps they are taking to help countries established a sustainable harvest of reef creatures for the aquarium hobby.

www.coralreefs.gov was one website that he told us about.

Dr Mac of Dr Mac and Sons was there with some corals and [acronym:967b2e4836="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frags[/acronym:967b2e4836] to purchase. There was another local vender there aswell.

The [acronym:967b2e4836="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frag[/acronym:967b2e4836] workshop was great. There where alot of people who turned out to learn how to [acronym:967b2e4836="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frag[/acronym:967b2e4836] and why we [acronym:967b2e4836="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frag[/acronym:967b2e4836]. Lots of people including myself came away from the meeting with some nice free [acronym:967b2e4836="Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal"]frags[/acronym:967b2e4836] as a result.

I won two certificates at the raffle aswell.
