Just wanted to let folks know of the opportunity. It's free, come on out and say hey! It'll definitely be worth a Sunday drive.... :)

The Atlanta Area Aquarium Association is presenting Ad Konings on Sunday, February 6 at 1:30 PM in room 101 of White Hall at Emory University. Dr. Konings’ name is synonymous with cichlids of the Great Rift Lakes of Africa—his extensive field work and writings have inspired much of the passion for these colorful and unique fish.

Lakes Malawi, Tanganyika and Victoria are some of the oldest, largest and deepest freshwater lakes in the world. These mineral rich waters have produced more than 800 species of cichlids. The incredible diversity and rapid speciation of these fish were featured on a recent episode of the Science Channel’s Mutant Planet program.

Ad Konings is a native of the Netherlands and has a doctorate in biology from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Now a resident of El Paso, Texas, Ad has authored two dozen books (including the Cichlid Yearbook series) and has presented in 20 countries. He formed Cichlid Press Publishing in 1991.
