Cedar wood in a tank

I have a mobster piece of cedar I want to use in my next tank. It's in the tub for a 30 day soak now. I did some research and found conflicting reports on whether it's safe or not. Cedar does contain cedar oil, which is more than likely toxic to fish.
Does anyone currently have cedar in their tank. If so, how did you treat it before going in the tank ?
