Wish we could make it up there! I've heard great things about the GCCA. I'm sure there will be a few people from our club headed that way. I'm also certain that they will relate stories that make me further regret not going. lol

Yes all over the country, it's a great place to meet like minded hobbyist and buy fish/sell from local breeders.

Theres none really that close to me. I don't have a car yet so it makes it kinda hard...

You could always start one. Check out rooms at the local library, they're free. I started a chess club for local students in grades 6-12 that meets weekly, it would be no different to start a fish club.
