used to breed bettas back in the Stone Age

Not big on guppies

Aqua Imports

I could use to thin out my Leopard Val after this weekend is over

I will be re-building my pygmy cory population after a tragic mishap

Well hello fellow Colorado locals. I myself am located in Thornton. Currently have multiple tanks setup between my brother and I but my personal tanks are a moderately planted 40 gallon breeder with Electric Blue Rams, Gold Rams, Cardinal Tetras and some Oto's. A moderately planted 29 gallon tank with Crystal Red Shrimp, Crystal Black Shrimp, Cherry Shrimp and Malayan Shrimp which also houses some Ram fry and lastly a 10 gallon lightly planted tank with a breeding pair of German Blue Rams. Also have a large number of German Blue Ram and Electric Blue Ram fry. As for local fish stores there is Sherman Tanks on 72nd and Federal, The Fish Den is a block east of 44th & Sheridan, Golden Fish is 7145 W. Colfax, Todds Tropicals on Hampden all are pretty good stores. I myself frequent Sherman Tanks as it is fairly close to where I live.

Hi!
Somehow I missed this post. I am interested to know more about your Rams. I will check out your profile and see if you have pics and other threads about them!

I also have a turtle

And..... *drum roll please*

I plan on getting a zebra pleco!

I'm in Lakewood

I know from forum talks that we go to a lot of the same events, conventions and auctions but just wanted to post this to let all coloradans know about IMO the best LFS in the Denver Metro Area. Neptunes Tropical Fish. Look em up and check them out some time. Awesome selection with rare fish in often, been open since 80s with knowledgeable staff and fresh and saltwater livestock/ equipment. :)

Yay! More AA fish loving Colorado friends!!! Welcome to the party!

Recently I got a Golden Nugget Pleco, it survived the QT and seemed to be doing well and growing and now the last couple days I do not see him. :/

Pet world and Golden Fish in Lakewood are pretty okay, nice selection of products

never was too impressed with pet world
over priced on a lot of stuff
there knowledge on fish keeping is very old school with very little explanation on questions addressed
store itself could use a good cleaning / products on shelf have thick layers of dust
with newer products in front showing lack of rotation

funny thing about golden fish I always thought it was a Chinese take out lol
can't comment since I never went there

I was told that Golden Fish had Discus, but never seem to get over there.

About Fish in Westminster has been nice for having a huge assortment and reasonable prices and they have Discus. CPD were 4 for $10. a rockin deal. Cardinals were reasonably priced (maybe 12 for 20 or 22.50 can't remember right now). I am thinking of a way to work out a auto water fill for my big tank and may entertain the Discus dream. There are so many beautiful variations, I am not sure I could ever decide on which ones!

anyone looking to trade?

Have you been to Neptune's Tropical? By far the best in the area and I've been to 3 of the 5 on your list. Its really a great store and I recommend you check it out if you never have. Its in Littleton on county line road.

I've been to Neptunes a lot, they're OK for regular type of fish. I keep exotics, africans, and aggressive cichlids, which they have none of.

Well I shouldn't say none, they just keep very common and standard fish.

Im sorry but I'm going to respectfully disagree. While they keep the bread and butter stock they often keep species in stock that I've never seen in Golden Fish, Fish Den, or south broadway. They however do not really have many big aggressive cichlids or africans. Their saltwater selection is also good and they have a very good selection of corals. Really healthy displays and rarely see a dead fish in their tanks.

Well, coming from a guy with 10 fish tanks, and over 200 fish, they have maybe 5 fish that I have. So although u may disagree, they literally have never stocked a good 90% of the fish I own.

Stingrays, puffers, peacock bass, arowana, payara, nile perch, arapaima, datnoids, wolf fish, are just some of the fish that have never graced the doors of Neptunes.

I will say, the store is kept clean and they have a decent plant and saltwater selection, but for the fish keeper that needs more than average Neptunes just doesn't cut it.
