My 125 gallon freshwater tank has nearly finished cycling and I plan on doing a 90% water change as I am doing a fishless cycle. My question is, can I use tap water to refill the tank and dump my dechlorinator in while it's filling or should I say...fill a barrel full of water and add dechlorinator to that and then pump it into my tank? I'm not quite sure how quickly the chlorine in my tap would kill the bacteria in my tank. I plan on having the pump shut off for my bio filter so that none of the chlorinated water gets into it. Thanks.

So the dechlorinator should get rid of it before it does damage to the bacteria?

whats the reason for the 90% change? seems like a lot of work to me haha

for water changes I always put the declorenator in the bucket but for a 90% change you mite as well just dump it in the tank as almost all the water is tap water.
