I have a 29 gallon that was full until I became bored with it and gave my buddy my 2 pearl gouramis which were my centerpiece fish.

Now I am looking for a centerpiece fish with lots of color and personality that can go with my current stock.

current stock:
10 pristella tetras
6 rummynose tetras
1 red platy
1 albino bn pleco
1 amano shrimp

Centerpiece fish options please:)?????

A female Gourami of sorts.

A Pearl, Gold, Honey, Opaline...
Take your pick, try to avoid Dwarf's though.

My 3 week old Golden Gourami is doing fine so far in a setup not too dissimilar to your own.

Is a gold or opaline gourami to aggressive for my other fish??!

I'd consider it though but I kind of want to get away from gouramis!!!!!!

I have keep both and loved them only thing I have to say is make sure you have a cave for the rams and some what heavily planted tank. My rams became more social the more my plants grew and loved their cave(medium terra pot) and bred three times before my male get killed by my angel that was only in the tank due to his tank breaking. I love my flame and still have him sorta lol he lives in my sister tank for now until my 20 gallon arrives. My rams loved earthworms and my flame loved strawberries lol.

Not at all he's in my tank with a red tail shark and a smaller gold angle and they get along great

I started with gouramis and platys. You can't go wrong with them, but there is a lot more out there to explore! And you can always find those types of fish when you want to return to them

gbr's are great. Also consider Bolivians rams as they get a little larger

Apistos are amazing but about $25 where I live

I still think you can't go wrong with a single angel as a show stopper

I like angels too but will pristella tetras nip the angelfish? ??
