Hello folks,

I have a 29 gallon mostly planted tank at the moment.

Current occupants

3 Bolivian Rams (aiming for M/F pair)
8 Harlequin Rasbora
8 Celestial Pearl Danio

I am looking for another type of fish that will fit into the community.

I don't think I want another schooling species, so something solitary or a pair would be perfect. I was thinking a single Apisto, but anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks!

How about a couple of rainbows? Turquoise rainbows are awesome. They don't need a big school. A pair would do fine.

i have a variety of rainbows in my 29 gallon. they're very playful when not stressed, also hardy and undemanding.

Maybe a pleco like a zebra L106. Really any of those "L"s look killer, if you can find em.... Or a smaller cat like a pictus.

I always thought rainbows required schools! I'll look into them, hopefully they don't jump since my tank is open top.

Rainbows DO jump. I have club members that keep small rainbows in open tanks, but they keep lots of plants including floaters.
