So, I decided my tank needed a new rescape.

Here is what I started with

Here I have 2 tanks for the fish and plants.

I dont like th plants I used, but thats all I had. I welcome all constructive criticism.:grab:

Looks good. no shale? (Im thinking of another box for my turtle, ill PM you when I figure it out)

I am working on a design for a shale piece.

I am not sure if I like the new piece of wood though

the new piece of wood kinda looks out of place with the other one. or maybe it's just the color of it makes it stand out so much. it might look fine once the plants fill in though. could use some tall stem plants in the back maybe but since you didnt have any cant blame you for that lol i think it will look good when the plants grow out.

I actually love that driftwood piece...it adds a nice red tone, whereas all you had before was green and grayish brown. Looks great.

I think the new piece will be better once it finally sinks. The rock is only there to hold it down. It is almost flat on the backside once it sinks I am going to place it more on the back glass. That should give my tank alittle more depth. It also goes good with my serpaes.

But thats if I keep it.

I would definitely keep it. It looks great and adds a lot of natural color. I just added a few random driftwood pieces to my tank as well. I like the look. Keep us updated.

Lookin sharp, I agree that the look will change as it waterlogs. Have you noticed a mini-cycle with the substrate change?

I didnt have a mini cycle, which suprised me. I think it might have to do with the PFS not having a lot of surface area for BB. I am also running 2 filters, an ac50 as well as an aqueon ex30.
