I think either way sounds great. I have a DG and think they are really fun to watch as well. They are active during the day and the kuhlis are more active at night so it might be good to get both.

There are smaller Hatchetfish if you would like to have more Hatchets for your tank. There are Marbled Hatchets and they are really colorful.
