Long time no forum everyone :),
Just wondering how to go about changing substrates with a stocked tank. (Fish moving, decorations, etc.) Any suggestions appreciated as I'm probably going to pick up a substrate better suited for cories and plants sometime this coming week.

I would just put the fish in a 5 gallon bucket and then remove everything from there. Just watch your levels, 0 changing the substrate may put your tank through a mini cycle.

Put fish and driftwood or decor in 5 gal bucket of aquarium water. I also then put my hob filter from that aquarium on the 5 gal bucket to keep that BB alive. Save at least 10 gal of original water from the aquarium to put back in when you are ready with the new substrate.

Also might want to leave some of your current substrate at the very bottom to help prevent that mini cycle.
