what sort of preditor fish could live happy in 50 gallon fresh water tank?

I'm not sure what the availability is on that size of the pond but I'd recommend Esox americanus vermiculatus. The other fish to look for is a Erythrinus erythrinus, both of these stay relatively small and would fit the bill perfectly.

African butterfly fish, South American leaf fish, Or maybe a freshwater needle fish. Don't get a needle nose gar I think those get too big.
