how many tetre's and barbs in 55g i dont know to much about these kind of fish right now i got cichlids in my 75 gallon i"m want to try something new for once thanks for info everyone peace!!!

well it depends on the size.. I mean tetras don't get that big do they? like an inch - two inches...

just follow the inch rule, 1 inch for every gallon and you should be alright

Depends on which tetras and which barbs. I'm not a big fan of the one-inch rule because there are too many variables, but when it comes to your "average" tetra that is about 1-2", you could use this method.
