55 gallon background

Hello all. I have a 55 gallon tank with 6 Black Mollies and 1 Pleco. Glad to be here..Looking forward to some great info.



I'm wanting to make a background out of plastic. The plastic is white, was wondering what the best solid color would be to paint it.

Black or dark blue. I use dark blue heavy paper from a craft store and it looks great.

What kind of substrate do you have and what is the tank decorated with? While black might be nice it will make it harder to see your mollies against the background.

I also agree that black or blue would be most appealing. But like gheitman said black could be a little too concealing for your fish.

Substrate? Not sure what that is. My tank decor consists of a few medium items. What color would you suggest?

What I meant to ask is what color gravel do you have? What are the tank decorations you are using and what colors are they? There might be a dark color that contrasts with the gravel and would show your fish and decorations to best effect. Do you have a picture of your tank that you could show us?

Maybe you could go with a dark blue like newfound77951 suggested or a dark green.
