so my sister has a 55g , it use to house 4 common goldfish and a common pleco ( way overstocked) they were rehomed 4 days ago. now time to restock with appropriate fish.

she wants larger fish ( that are appropriate for a 55g) she wants at least 2 of them or 3 maybe 4 of them

what do you guys suggest? I initial suggested some fancy goldfish. but she wants to get away from the goldfish scene.
she has a heater and 2 hob filters each rated for a 55g and a canister filter that does about 215gph

My sons 55 has a couple Jack Dempseys (1 male, 1 female) and two jewel cichlids. he used broken pots and strawberry planters for decor and it turned out nice.

A few angelfish, maybe? Or, if she's willing to put the effort into it, a few discus. Also, look into cichlids (other than the angels)--there are a few of the larger ones that will do well in a 55 in limited numbers.
