Overstocking is only used in Africans in certain situations, ie. Malawi mbuna mainly.

Your peacock example is flawed and only applies to an all male tank, a male peacock and 3 females will do just fine on their own. I hope this path works for you but wouldn't it make more sense to just stock correctly? Especially if you anticipate an upgrade?

Yeah I won't lie, it's beginning to be a full time job cleaning and siphoning, so I get what your saying but I do like my red devil a lot.

Well hey, wet pets are awesome, I fully understand. They just don't do well mixed or in groups with Africans. I compare it to a language barrier. Its similar to locking people from different regions of the world with different customs and languages in a room together. Its not a great idea. I'm glad to see you seem to be a responsible keeper and I'm sure you will figure your stocking out. Best of luck.
