So here is the deal i have just got a 75gal tank and i'm not sure if i should do fresh or salt.

i would like to know if you had a 75gal what would you stock it with?( if i go with fresh it would be planted with drift wood)

I have a 75 gallon freshwater and i am still trying to figure out what to do with it! LOL. I'm following!

This is what I'd do
Substrate- Black Sand
1 Peacock Eel
2 Eclipse Catfish
5 Silver Dollars
2 Angel Fish
6 Cory Cats
1 Rubberlip Pleco

Or a Cichlid Tank
The centerpiece would be
2 Green Terrors or
2 Electric Blue Jack Dempsies or
2 Firemouth or
2 Blood Parrots
And to go with the Cichlids I would add some Bichirs and a Pleco

Or more of a community Tank.
8 Cardinal Tetras
Endlers or Guppies 1 male 4 females
8 Cory Cats
And maybe 2 other schools of smaller fish a few Platys and a Bristlenose Pleco or 2 Otos

Here some pics

I was also think to the community tank you could add some Red Cherry Shrimp

Cardinal Tetra would look great in a heavily planted natural looking tank

I would do:
2 pearl Gouramis or GBR
10-20 cardinal tetra
10-15 panda or sterbai Cories
10 cherry barb
A few platies to top it off

Samzter I like that idea! Maybe add a small species of Pleco or some Otos.

I honestly would go salt. But financially that is a much bigger endeavor. Freshwater is great especially for the cost effectiveness and the less maintenance requirements.

yea i would love salt but the way I want it, it would break the bank for the next year lol

I think a salt water tank is pointless unless its bigger. A big coral reef is awesome and usually do better in a tank 100 gallons or more but I guess you could do a smaller one in a 75. It would cost a lot less!

You're in the same boat as me lol. I just helped my dad set up a 30 gal reef and 55 gal aggressive SW tank and it is taking every ounce of will power I have ever had to not convert to reef
