An you guys just give me a run down of all the acronyms you use on here? I feel so lost when you use them so I gotta learn them!

AC - Activated carbon, chemical filtration media / alternating current
acro - Acropora, a type of SPS coral
AFAIK - As far as I know

AISI - As I see it ALK - Alkalinity, measure of buffering capacity of water
ASAP - As soon as possible

Ca - Calcium
CaCl2 - Calcium chloride
CaCO3 - Calcium carbonate Ca(OH)2 - Calcium hydroxide
CC - Crushed Coral
Cl - Chlorine
CO2 - Carbon dioxide
CO3 - Carbonate
cuke - Sea cucumber, typically the sand sifting variety
Cu - Copper
CYANO - Cyanobacteria
DC - Direct current
DI - Deionisation, type of water purification
DIY - Do it yourself
dKH - Degrees of carbonate hardness, measure of alkalinity
DO - Dissolve oxygen
DOC - Dissolved organic carbon
FAQ - Frequently ask question
Fe - Iron
FO -Fish only, type of marine aquarium
FOWLR - Fish Only with Live Rock
frag(s) - Broken or cut pieces of coral which will eventually grow into a new animal
FW - Freshwater

GAL - Gallon
GPH - Gallons per hour
HCO3 - Hydrogen carbonate

HO - High output fluorescent light

UVS - Ultra violet Sterilizer (a unit used by saltwater and freshwater hobbiests to 'zap' parasites and bacteria from the water)

W - Watts
WC - water change
WPG - watts per gallon
WYSIWYG - What you see is what you get
 
Thanks dude! But what's RCS mean literally? I gather it means shrimp, but what's the r c and s stand for?
 
Yeah, this list doesn't have the abbreviations used for different fish or plants...like...
RCS-Red Cherry Shrimp
GKF-Ghost Knife Fish
HC-Hemianthus Callitrichoides(baby dwarf tears)


Those are all I can think of right now, anyone care to expand this?
 
Well as far as shrimp go here's a few:
BPS = blue pearl shrimp
CRS = crystal red shrimp
CBS = crystal black shrimp
OEBT = orange eye blue tiger shrimp

Also
CPD = celestial pearl danio
PPD = purple passion danio
 
That's really...uncreative? They're so simple, but I wouldn't've known them till you told me them ^^
 
Well acronyms are initials. Doesn't really leave much room for creativity. ;)

LFS=local fish store
Forgot those there is a app for fish acronyms on apple market .

JD=jack Dempsey
G=gallons !!!
l=liters!
BN=bristlenose
 
I thought BN was bristlenose? (that's the only one I know)
 
They meant BN.

IMHO = in my humble opinion
IME = in my experience
JMO = just my opinion
