Activity level of rams

How do rams act. Do they just hover in one place? Dart around in bursts? Hide?

I think it all depends but most stay at the bottom and just hang out. They explore throughout for food after feeding time and they can be aggressive but it all depends

My ram is very happy in a community setting. She feeds at the surface with tetras and a gourami. Only shows a little defensive behavior when the gourami chases her out of his territory. Picks through the gravel for bits of food all day and swims around, sometimes in bursts of speed.and happily bops around the tank checking everything out.
