Did you cap it?

Cap it? What's that mean?ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1414673203.456786.jpg
Oh and it looks quite a bit better

Cap it meaning put a slightly denser material on top as to prevent the clouding and disruption. Seems as though you've got it tamed.

Does that m an I should put just a little gravel on top?

Eco complete or floramax would suffice.

Check ammonia levels before you add fish. ADA soil has a tendency to cause big ammonia spikes for the first few weeks.

Yeah. It abrades into a very fine clay dust. Experiences vary, based a little upon how much it had gotten abraded.

I made the mistake once of mixing it with sand, which wore it down so badly the cloudiness didn't go away for days.

Capping helps a little but water changes are best IME.

Can I just cap it with normal aquarium gravel?

There isn't much point, it will be equally "dusty". You can refrain from calling and just change water a lot.

Yes, OP, stop calling :) I'm sure she meant "capping".
For those who have used ADA soil, how would you rate it versus something like EcoComplete?

Lol ... I shouldn't post so late.

I've only used aqua soil in my 3 gallon betta tank, my big tank has plain sand. Probably not the setting in which it shows off its magical powers. I tried it just because our LFS sells it by the pound.

It doesn't need capping. It will settle. You can clear it faster with water changes. You can plant it now, while you wait out the Ammonia spikes. Plants LOVE it.

I have AquaSoil Amazonia Multi in one of my 5.5g tanks.

Plus lots of my club members use it.

I want to go buy plants but my LPS is 20 minutes away so I have to wait till my parents will drive me. Hopefully soon! Also could anyone who used it post pics?
