I am looking to finish stocking my 55 gallon planted tank with a sand substrate. I currently have danios up top, corys at the bottom, a pair of angels and a pair of pearl gouramis. It's been 2 weeks since I last added any fish and they are all healthy and getting along nicely. I'd like to get a school of mid-swimmers to round it out, but my concerns are:

-must be a hardy species
-nothing with a huge bioload
-nothing that will become angel food
-nothing that will eat/uproot my plants

I keep the temperature at 78F, and do 40% water changes weekly. The tank is 2 months old. Ammonia and nitrites are at zero, with nitrates at 5-10ppm. I would appreciate any recommendations you guys have that would be a good fit for my tank. Thanks!

Bleeding Heart Tetras
Lemon Tetras
Harlequin Rasboras

Are all peaceful types with body shapes that should keep them out of Angel mouths.

Watch out for aggression between Angels and Gouramis. They sometimes fight in some tanks.

Thanks! The angels and gourami have been peaceful so far, but I'll keep an eye out.
